CAROL FOR THE THOSE ON THE FRONT LINE: A Quarantine Carol

Written by Carol B. Ghattas. Sung to the tune of Away in the Manger. Music by James R. Murray, 1841-1905.

Away at the hospital who do we find?
The doctors and nurses are standing in line.
To care for the sick, working hard, overtime.
Along with the techs, and support staff sublime.

Emergency calls are heard and pursued,
By police, fire fighters and EMTS too.
With no thought to self, they give all they can
To meet the needs of every woman and man.

For those essential services all,
We find faithful men and women to call.
In keeping our cities running so well,
In good times and bad, they never do fail.

I’m thankful, Oh Father, for all who do serve,
To them we owe thanks, so much more they deserve.
In government places and secular too.
So, bless them, dear Father, for all that they do.
