I will send out an official press release soon, but I wanted to let you know about my latest book: When You Don’t Feel Like Celebrating: A 31-Day Advent Devotional, to be published by Ambassador International. Pre-orders are available now. Releasing on October 14, pray with me that this book will speak into the heart of every reader who is struggling during the holiday season.
Holidays can be hard when you’re experiencing grief over the death of a loved one, loss of a job, living away from home for the first time, or displacement because of war or violence. All these circumstances and more can lead to the question: “What do I do when I don’t feel like celebrating?” Just when you feel you have no reason to celebrate the coming of Christ, God speaks, offering hope through the most unlikely of sources, people, and places.

Through this devotional, we will walk together through Isaiah’s prophecies, remembering that the God of promise will provide hope and encouragement even in our darkest days. Today, you may be overwhelmed by the darkness in our world or by the sin that is so blatantly displayed all around. You may be distressed at the state of the Church or your own spiritual condition. Yet God tells us that “in the last days” things will look different and we can live in hope of what’s to come.
Pray with me that whatever struggle readers are facing, this devotional will help them to turn to Scripture and let God break through to their hearts and minds, restoring hope and joy. We have so much to celebrate.
Grace and Peace
