Learning from the Past Wrap-Up

This past year of looking at lessons from the Old Testament in the New Testament has barely touched the surface of all the references found in the words of the Gospels, the Epistles, and the Book of Revelation. I trust it’s whet your appetite for further digging into this treasure we call the Bible. If there is anything that I know fellow congregants at my local church love about our pastor, it’s how he connects the whole of Scripture together in his sermons. That’s what this study has done for me, as I’ve seen how much Jesus quoted from the Torah, Matthew from Isaiah, and Paul from both the Torah and Prophets.

The entirety of God’s Word, “all Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB). We need it all to understand God, his will, plans for mankind, and how to live in a way that pleases him. If the writers of the New Testament and Jesus himself saw the value of the Old Testament, we should not ignore it.

To wrap up this year, I am providing the references and topics used in my posts with quick links for future studies or use. I pray you’ll be encouraged to continue to grow as a student of his Word and follower of Christ all the years of your life.

Grace and Peace
