I know you may be wondering if I can ever settle down to one style or genre of writing, but I think I was born to be eclectic by nature. It’s reflected in my house décor and now my writing, as I’ve branched out into the world of cozy mysteries with Archived by Death, ($12.99, paperback, 9798287612832; $6.99 e-book) available on Amazon. This cozy mystery is set within the halls of the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville.
A quick summary.

First-year archivist Kevin Mason thought it was just another peaceful day in his dream job at the Tennessee State Library and Archives, but when the library world is rocked by a shocking murder within the walls of their grandest institution, his analytical skills kick into gear. Who would want to kill a librarian? Was it a personal vendetta or because of some historical documents they handled? Kevin is determined to solve the crime before another colleague is archived by death.
Readers will love the insider’s view of the new Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA) building while watching Star Wars enthusiast and archivist, Kevin Mason, work to solve this shocking crime. There are many ways a person could be killed within the venerable institution, and Archived by Death reveals that even the library can be a dangerous place to work.
Why I wrote this book.
I came up with the concept and title for the book during a tour of the new Tennessee State Library and Archives building in 2021. As I walked through the building with fellow librarians from the state, my mind kept focusing on potential dangers for an unsuspecting victim. I snapped pictures with my phone to remember and tucked the title, Archived by Death, away for another day. Now, four years later, the book is a reality. I trust it will be a fun read for librarians and cozy mystery lovers alike.
This cozy mystery pulls from my lifelong relationship with public libraries. As the daughter of a librarian, I grew up among the stacks and recently retired from a twelve-year career as branch manager of Linebaugh Public Library in Murfreesboro, TN. The two decades I lived overseas in missionary service add a unique perspective to my books and worldview. Archived by Death is my first foray into the world of cozy mysteries but hopefully not my last, as I’m thinking of future mysteries set in countries where I’ve lived or visited.
