Have you ever just thought the world was falling apart? Or, maybe just your life was falling apart? Either one is depressing.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
There is a verse written by Paul to the church in Corinth about having only a partial view of things:
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.*
Do you realize how little we understand of what’s happening in the world? I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what’s going on in my little corner of it, much less the world at large. That’s really alright, because our view is limited and for good reason. God knows how much we can handle, and it’s not much, believe me.
Yet, there really is so much more going on. That’s why I loved this quote by Tom Doyle:*
The physical war on the ground is a reflection of the spiritual war for those people in the heavenlies.
When I feel limited by my finite view of a national crises, natural disaster or war, I remember that there is so much more going on behind the scenes. “God, you must really love these people to want to see them wake up to their need for you. I know that in the midst of this crisis, you are reaching out to hearts, breaking down barriers and opening the door for your children to share hope to those hurting and searching for something more. Win this battle for the people of Yemen, China, Venezuela and for my friend who’s lost a loved one or suffering with cancer. Draw them to Jesus.”

Don’t let the battle on the ground distract you from the real battle being fought for souls. What’s your role in the fight?
Are you a supply sergeant, battalion leader, communications coordinator or foot soldier?
Christ has won the ultimate victory. We just want as many as possible to be on the winning team. Let’s do our part to see that happen to his glory.
Grace and Peace
