O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL: A Quarantine Carol

Written by Carol B. Ghattas. Sung to the tune of O Come, All Ye Faithful. Music by John Francis Wade, c. 1711-1786.

O come, all ye faithful, though we’re quarantined.
In this COVID-19 pandemic we sing.
God’s on his throne, though the world’s turned upside down.

So, come, let’s give him glory.
Online and in our homes.
So, come, let’s give him glory.
Christ, the Lord.

Yes, Lord, we acknowledge you, through this time of crisis.
You alone are in control, though man tries to rule.
Your Word gives peace and comfort through the trials.

So, come, let’s give him glory.
Online and in our homes.
So, come, let’s give him glory.
Christ, the Lord.

For us, to live is Christ; to die is our gain.
We will not fear what this crisis shall bring.
Our hope is secure for eternity.

So, come, let’s give him glory.
Online and in our homes.
So, come, let’s give him glory.
Christ, the Lord.

I came across these ancient lyrics I wrote what seems like years ago now. Since it’s the Christmas season, you can add it to your repertoire. Merry Christmas 2020
